Can someone prove that Zeus & Hades don't exist?

Can someone prove Zeus is not real? You cannot use statistics stating “more ppl believe in the bible”, it doesn’t count.

Answer #1

this doesnt answer your question, but i think that the roman gods are really interesting, even though im christian, i think it would be cool to have multiple gods with different attributes

Answer #2

You prove it.. Can you.. I challenge you 13…..

Answer #3

Comparing belief in Zeus and Hades to belief in the Bible is like comparing apples and grommets - they’re different sorts of things. You’d have to compare Zeus and Hades to G!d and hell, or belief in the BIble to belief in Homer, lol.

Do you know anyone at all, even one person, who believes that Zeus is a real immortal deity, chief of a bunch of other immortal deities?

Answer #4

I think you missed the point of it completely

Answer #5

It’s about faith. My faith is i believe in one god and and jesus. people can try to prove my god isnt real but that will just bother me. so im not going to try to prove Zeus and Hades isnt real if you believe in them

im greek and i dont believe in them haha. people at school ask me if i do

Answer #6

Not quite the point just seeing what some of belief may say really, what their reactions may be if they try to disprove it & I throw back the same basic defenses they do, such as “have faith” or “he works in mysterious ways” Just so curious about that

& I use to know someone who did, actually lol

Answer #7

Umm, sounds like you’re feeling beleaguered in your (dis)belief.

Answer #8

Tell them you’re Aphrodite @v@

Answer #9

i should next time!

Answer #10

No I didn’t, 13txc. ..

Answer #11

I saw zeus he was in a movie called “clash of the titans. I gave it 4stars. Their were other demi-gods in it also…

Answer #12

I see the point you are trying to make here. Is a brilliant idea. Why would people would take more seriously the Christian God or Allah? And why would they ridicule somebody that would rather believe in Zeus? Sorry if I didn’t really answer your question, but is this the point you are trying to make?

Answer #13

im athiest

Answer #14

No….. just like we can’t prove that they do exist…. unless you find some way to talk to the dead….. last I heard that is a one way street. ha ha

Answer #15

Nobody can prove that any god exists. At least not with any reasonable scientific method.

So either you believe in a god or you don’t.

Answer #16

Hi trenth, People really used to believe that in ancient Greece. The religion of an era is the literary entertainment of the next era. So guess what people will write about Christianity in 4011? ;-)

Answer #17

Astrid, nobody can prove that another person’s mind exists, either. So are we each free to believe that “I am the only truly conscious being”?

Answer #18

Since it is almost impossible to prove a negative, no one can. I assume you are asking this in response to believers, who when asked if they can prove god exists, will usually retort with, “can you prove he doesn’t exist?”. That to me is one of the most ridiculous arguments believers use.

Answer #19

“The religion of an era is the literary entertainment of the next era.” Only if the religion dies out. Seems to me Hinduism would therefore be a more apt comparison, since it is an ancient and still contemporary tradition with a full pantheon.

Answer #20

As a matter of principle, you can’t prove a negative. I can’t prove that pigs don’t fly. I can only offer evidence from experience and you have to make a judgement of the probability.

Answer #21

There’s a yummy bakery down the street from us called “When Pigs Fly” so i guess they do! :)

Answer #22

Can I prove you exist?

Answer #23

very true TrentH Beat me to the chase

Answer #24

I believe you did

Answer #25

That’s a part of it. The other part is that not everyone has to believe in a God. Hoping that once they realize why they don’t believe in other God’s & how ludicrous their combats such as “just have faith” or “he works in mysterious ways” are when trying to convince someone their god exist. But alas, I don’t see it working out the way I plan

Answer #26

No more than I can prove you exist. To me, you’re nothing more than words on screen & a picture, just as I am to you. For all you know, all your memories & life up to this point(or even now) could be nothing more than a dream or a creation of your mind.

Answer #27

Those are Greek gods, not Roman.

Answer #28

…Then you are worthless thoughts

Answer #29

just as you & everything else worth in an illusion of the mind

Answer #30

I like your idea that religious people can understand an atheist’s viewpoint because of all the gods that they, themselves don’t believe in. During the time of the Greek and early Roman empires, Jews were widely castigated for being atheists because they didn’t believe in the gods of the state religion.

Answer #31

Whoa- I didn’t know that.. I like obtaining & learning new information. & I never thought about it like that, as well..

Answer #32

No I didn’t- But if you say so.. Then I did.. I’ll try to do better next time….

Answer #33

I would like to hope they can, but some just seem utterly oblivious And very true, as were some romans considered athiest bcuz they didn’t accept the Christian God and vise-versa

Answer #34

Many or almost all the Roman gods were taken from geek culture, many times changing only their names, corresponding to Jupiter of the Romans,Zeus was a god of the sky and was viewed as having control of the winds, clouds, rain, and thunder, exercising his power over these natural forces for both a destructive and a beneficial purpose(Acts 14:12, notice this happened during the ruling of roman empire))

Answer #35

By the way, Bible talks about the existence of many gods, but only one Almighty Creator(Psalms 82:6). May be we should define the meaning of “god” and “exist” first…..

Answer #36

Interesting “dialectics” and accurate from Biblical point of view.Since we are in constant change and the Almighty isn’t we could say “less exist” than GOD(“…I have not changed…”-Malachi 3:6;”All the nations are as something nonexistent in front of him; as nothing and an unreality they have been accounted to him.”-Isaiah 40:17)

Answer #37

Please don’t tel me you’re going to go on all my questions posting this. Read different mythologies, in different mythologies different gods come first. The almighty in Greek is Zeus, as in Roman is the Sun, & Norse is Odin. In Greek the titans Giai & Cronus appeared first It really all depends on one’s beliefs.
