How do you prepare before going running, like what to eat?

Ive been running for a while and I try to leave it an hour after I eat but sometimes it still gives me stitches, what should I be eating?

Answer #1

Before running, eat a light meal, like a power bar or toast, to maintain energy through a short training session

Answer #2

You should mainly eat something light before, like a fruit salad or a fruit salad, that gives you a fair amount of energy. Or you can try a tuna sandwhich, a banna with penit buter, some cereal, or something of that kind. You can eat something light before you go and then when you get back have a bigger but healthy meal.

Answer #3

when i am going to go running, i normally eat at least an hour and a half before hand and drink at least 2 bottles of water, before i go running (like having the two bottles during the day not an hour b4)

Answer #4

Try eat a good meal at least 2 hours before running if you can (nothing too sugary, as that will cause your energy levels to drop, something starchy with complex carbs should do the trick and prevent stiching). Also make sure that you eat slowly and don’t gulp down air with your food, I notice that if I eat quickly before running that I get side stiches.. That is what you should do before a big race, don’t drink too much water beforehand, that can cause stiches.

Answer #5

there isn’t really specifics that you should eat in my opinion, i will usually eat breakfast in the morning and wait a few hours or so and then go for a run and after have a feast. I try not to eat too much before though because it makes me feel sick while i am running :/

Answer #6
