Ms. Silver,

You haven’t been on this site very long, but you’ve already displayed MANY of the negative aspects of many Christians today; You’ve made sweeping statements and drawn conclusions about non-believers, and wish to isolate them from the believers.

You’ve also failed to notice (or just overlooked), that there are overzealous ‘believers’ (mostly Christian, with a few others), who ALSO flock to this site here to display their views; be they virtuous or malicious. I get very tired of repeating this, IT IS NOT YOUR DUTY TO JUDGE ANYONE. According to YOUR religion, that duty lies with God and God alone. It doesn’t matter how many bitter, traumatized, or simply dim-witted people challenge your beliefs. They remain YOUR beliefs, and that’s all that should matter to you.

Now, if you should have an interest in discussing your beliefs, from a scholastic philosophical, or theological standpoint. On this site, there ARE individuals with Thiestic/Athiestic/Agnostic knowledge and/or experience (committedchristian, neal, filletofspam, myself, etc.) who actually KNOW what they’re talking about.

And I suppose believers never go around trying to convince non-believers and followers of other religions that they are wrong? I’ve been proseltyzed to my whole life.

Athiests usually don’t care what others believe. Thomas Jefferson summed it up very well for me when he said, “But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.” The problem that I have is when believers are so sure of the correctness of their own religion that they have to force it on me.

In the 1950’s “one nation under God” was added to the Pledge of Allegiance and our national motto was changed from the inclusive “E Pluribus Unum” to the exclusive “In God We Trust.” Today believers religious beliefs in a soul that magically enters every zygote makes them want to ban abortion and embryonic stem cell research for everyone. My tax dollars pay for military and congressional chaplins who often attack my worldview in their prayers and sermons.

It is atheists who are on the defensive against agressive religionists.

I think you can see that for yourself, on this board, how all the non believers flock here to trying to convince others that they are right, and believers are wrong.. they are spening all their time and energy to do this… they must feel it is very important to try to persuade people to not believe… like they do…If there is no God.. why are they so adamant about it, and why do they camp out on a board that is about religion… it all they have to say is negative… food for thought???

Answer #4

…pro-segregation, eh? When has that ever helped?

Answer #5

I think another thread should be started… one for believers… one for unbelievers…
