Go to the bank that you bank with and ask them for a credit report. They will gladly give you one. I have just obtained one from my bank.

Sure, you can write to the various credit score companies. You are entitled to at least a free credit report from one of these companies every year. You go tho this url: https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

You can go to your bank, you can ask for the customer service to check your credit card score. They would not ask anything to pay for it.
