kitten last 2 days shes crying, very horse cries

I have acquired a kitten, my step-son brought it home and it was fine, looked small (not sure on the age) but healthy. In the last 2 days shes crying, very horse cries, and has an almost wheezing sound coming out. Im tight on funds but I’m guessing a vet visit, any suggestions, please, anything. Tried kitten/cat milk, she isnt really drinking it though.

It sounds like what we call “the kitten flu”. When kittens get a head cold they can’t get rid of it without help usually. Beware if it’s eyes are matting together. Take a warm damp cloth and gently clean the crust away. The buildup behind the kittens eyes can eventually make the eyes pop out of the eye sockets. Also, they can’t smell their food when they are like this so they will grow very emaciated. Definately try to take it to the vet and get some antibiotics.

I foster kittens here some things to help you.Age- no teeth 0-2weeks,tiny teeth like bumps 3-4weeks,for a baby kitten that cant lap milk youll have to force feed but dont use regular milk you would drink or youll doom the kitten for death. You need to get kmr kitten milk replacer.Give it to the kitten every 2-4 hrs in a bottle if it cant lap it up itsself if it can chances are then its atleast 5weeks old.Place a stuffed animal into a plastic big box and place the kitten in there too with a heating pad to keep it warm. These cries worry me because they do these cries when they are dyeing.Try deworming the kitten then wait 2 weeks and do it again. If the kitten gets diahrea or refuses to eat the kitten probably has distemper which is fatal to animals and contagious to other cats. And the kitten will have to be treated or put down and there isnt no for sure that it will survive the expensive treatment. Try the steps above see if it helps if not then have your kitten checked out.

she could be afraid of somthing, or maybe the thunder( if it has been raining ) im not sure, I would get it looked out though. I know my friends their cats wine and stuff then there is a thunderstorm.

Answer #4

It could be asthma or a virus or respiratory infection, if she’s wheezing.

Just keep trying to get her to eat, and you’re spot-on about the vet - as soon as possible.
