Can piercing your cartilage paralyse you?

I do all my piercings myself no problem, but I haven’t done my cartilage yet, and I keep reading things about how it can paralyse you and stuff, but some say that nothing bad can happen apart from infection? I know it can shatter your cartilage and stuff but If you know for a fact that it can paralyse you then let me know? and make sure you actually do know it does not just what people have told you or what you have read on the internet cos thats why im stuck cos everyone is saying different things?

It cant paralyze you, you can temporarily loose feeling in the area you pierce but it comes back. Although, piercing something yourself is stupid, especially catlidge which is more difficult and can shatter. A piercing cost $30, if you cant afford that you dont need it. Theres a reason people train and there are professionals, they know what their doing and are in sterile environment, you dont and arent.
