I get two to four phone calls a day from number within my area code and when I answer them no one is there. Whenever I call back the number it says we are sorry but the number you are trying to call has been disconnected or no longer in service. Its not always the same number either! Does anyone know how to figure out who this is and stop it?
That's what I would do, it's simple, and you don't have to go through a lot of trouble, they will do it for you. :) It's really weird that when you try to call back it is disconnected. This may not be prank calls, it could just be something wrong. Your phone company should be able to solve this problem, and tell you whether it is a prank caller, or a mistake or something. If it is a prank caller, you can get the police involved if the calls don't stop. Happy to help. :)
I tried calling a customer service rep about this before and they said they don't offer block for specific numbers. But some phones have this option called call barring. It blocks certain numbers from calling you or it automatically appears as a missed call once the number is registered . Check your manual and see if you have it. It might help. (^^,)
If you record 3-4 numbers down, you can track their number on the internet (people search) and pinpoint a small radius of the area they live in. This can help you set up a destination where exactly the caller is coming from.
I would suggest calling you phone company and explaining your situation to them. Ask them if there is anything they can do about it. I am sure they can pull up all you recent incoming calls and find out what the problem is.
I've tried a reverse look up of the numbers, but it always says their is not any information for the number.
That means that number is out of service or simply they have some sort of call screening/blocking.

Call the police and give them the phone #.
