Can a person lose their SSI-Disability after they've been approved?

If a person has filed for SSI-Disability because they cannot work due to disabilities, and their claim was approved and they are now receiving checks… can they lose it at anytime after they’ve been approved?

If so, for what reasons could they lose it (in the USA)?

Answer #1

Yes they can, I they have done something they weren’t supposed to, like working or lieing on the application itself, if u tell me y they did it I can tell u if its a legitamit reason

Answer #2

It didn’t happen, it is just something I was wondering about. Thanks for responding. :-) Are there any other reasons you can think of? I am just wondering what all could cause you to lose it once you’ve gotten it.

Answer #3

Well if u lie on the app, or if u lie about residency or actual oncome u have now, if u lie about how many ppl r in the house, if u lie about rent or utilities that u pay, that’s the ones I can think of right off hand

Answer #4

Yes, if it’s proven that they are in fact not disabled. A lot of people scam the government for money, so yes. Even if you are temporarily disabled you can get it removed if you get back to normal health.
