Why do people get their tonsils taken out?

Some people get their tonsil infection and that make them hard to talk or swallow. Some tonsils’ infection can be cured by medication but some have to be removed when medication does not work.

Because we don’t need tonsils. Tonsils make it very easy to get throat infections. I was sick a lot as a kid and was so close to getting my tonsils removed.

When I was younger I had to get mine removed because I constantly got bacterial throat infections (strep throat, usually). Before I had them removed I was constantly on medication; it was crazy. My tonsils were also a little larger than normal.

because people get tonsilitus

Some peoples tonsils cause them constant pain and infection, which continuously comes and goes, having them removed is easier than going through the pain of infection over and over again.

tonsils swell when they get infected, and when they swell too much, they give you surgery and they come out and also after all that happens you can ea ALL THE FRIGGIN ICE CREAM THAT YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the criteria are very specific whereas 50 yrs ago many people did. Now airway obstruction due to enlargement or chronic documented inflammation/infection are some reasons.

I got mine out because I have major ear pains
