What can I do to lower the pain after getting my tonsils taken out?

ik they talk about it being harder on adults but i was a special case. i actully had strep 7 times in a 9 month pperiod they were swollen to thebpoint there were random points i couldnt breath and when they removed them i had stones all over the back and inside were they couldnt even be seen without being taken out so my cuts are a little deeper and farther down. Riding it out is like a personal h*ll :/
