Why do people never think I'm Nigerian?

I guess people just characterize others in a certain category or can’t tell the difference between races. But of course, a person sometimes can’t always look entirely like their race and can be mistaken for something else. For me, everyone ALWAYS mistaken me for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino or any other Asian race but I am Cambodian! :) It’s really surprising to them because I don’t look anything like it at all, and I am full Cambo. :) But to add on, my country isn’t really recognized or popular in this society because there aren’t very many Cambodians so people don’t really think or even know about my race. I think that’s why people assume that I’m some other race. I guess you can relate? I am the only Cambodian in my whole school, and one of my best friends, who is Nigerian as well, is the only Nigerian at my school. Maybe it’s about the population of races that make other people mix things up? I’m not entirely sure but I hope this helped in some way and made sense!
