Why do people act so rude to quiet and nice people more than anyone?

I’m very sweet but I get called names, laughed at, etc..,

Answer #1

It happens. Often times, someone who is quiet, and nice are an easier target as they are easier to pick on without getting in trouble. I was picked on a lot when I was in elementary and highschool, I was extremely quiet. Just learn to ignore the things they say, eventually they will stop.

Answer #2

because they all want to know what your thinking about. theyre mean because they don’t understand and therefore assume your different and weird. Also theyres rumors about everyone and they prolly assume that the quiet kids start them. theres a reason that you have to look out for the quiet ones, like me ;)

Answer #3

I’d say (to those disrespecting us) do yourself a favor and be nice to the quiet, thoughtful ones. They will probably be doctors, artists, politicians, scientists, or something else well paying and influential later on in their lives :D

Many well known and important men and women throughout history had been harassed, ridiculed, or cast out in their childhood. They grew up to shape the world we live in today.

Answer #5

Countess is right, my childhood was exactly the same. At some point you will learn the true meaning to the song…”you can’t please everybody so you got to please yourself”. That’s when you’ll find who your true friends are and the rest won’t matter. You’ll learn how to laugh it off when you realize they are the ones with bigger problems . As Devin posted and I found out in going to an eigth grade reunion in my 20’s…those of us who were reserved and were ridiculed, matured well and were doing well…not so for the big mouths that ruled in school…..what goes around comes around.

My answer jives with yours stallion. We are the intellect of the coming generation, and we hold the future in our hands. The weak and the ignorant are not to be blamed for their faults. They have no choice. The greatest chance we have to finally make them learn is by dominating and re-educating the masses that surround them. If their world is intelligent, in disparity of even their own thoughts, they will adopt the approach of reason. Have faith in your fellow human, they WILL learn lol.

Answer #7

Niola, it doesn’t ring true to me that “people” do this, at least not routinely. For the most part, it’s bullies who do this. They’re looking for whoever seems most vulnerable, and least likely to stand up to them. And yes, they’re a pain in the behind.

But stop to think for a moment about all the people you know at school or elsewhere who don’t treat you so badly. If you have trouble thinking of people like that, it’s likely because you don’t often notice them, because they - like you - are busy being quiet and nice. Reach out to them as potential friends. The more you associate with real friends, and are seen to do so, the less other people will harass you, and the less their rudeness will bother you.
