How will my parents react when I tell them I want to move in with my boyfriend so we can both train to be in the Navy together?

Im 18

I actually think it’s cool that you and your boyfriend are going into the Navy together. If your family has a history of military, then they should be a little more understanding about it. As for if you don’t have a history of military, they could see it as “not needed” or “just an excuse to live with your boyfriend”. Hopefully they take it well, because after all, in the end it IS your decision. (:

Well Karina since ur 18 you r a fuuly fledged adult you now can do anything you want and if you parents get angry that u want 2 move out so wat like i said ur an adult your choice not theirs.

Answer #3

Well we don’t know your parents are they strict? Are they overprotective? Also depends on if they like/trust your boyfriend. You know them best, so I’m sure your guess is more likely true. But your 18 you can make your own choice but be nice if your parents approve.

Answer #4

I can’t say how your parents would react, because that’s something that only you and those close to your family will be able to guess at, but I can say that I think moving in with him so you can train together is a great idea. It will keep you (and him) motivated and strengthen your relationship while working toward a common goal!

Speaking from a parents perspective, First of all, until you are a parent, it is hard to understand a parents love for their children. You will always be their little boy or girl, and they will always want what is best for you. When you are 18 and in love sometimes it is hard to see past friday night. My advice to you is simply to make calculated decisions now. Take your time and think through things, do not act on emotion. Decisions like these will definitely impact your life down the road. Check your motives as well. Are you running from something? Are you doing this only because you are in love? Are you doing this to get back at your parents?
