What is the Paleolithic diet?

My friend has asked me to start the Paleolithic diet with her and I have no clue what that is.. I have tried looking it up but havent had much back from it.. anyone know?

Its also known as the “caveman” diet. In other words your only eating things that are natural, meat that has not been breed and has fed like it would naturally before being killed, etc.

The main food items include fish, nuts, eggs, veggies, meats (excluding chickens since they feed on grains), roots.

No grains, legumes, salt, refined sugar, processed oils, etc.

Your basicly only eating things you could naturally get straight from the land…which can be a hard diet to follow depending on where you live and if your community has specialty shops that can provide non-breed meats.

The Paleo diet is based on the premise that we evolved to be hunters and gatherers and that our modern health problems are largely because we now eat a diet based on agriculture instead of the diet we previously ate. The Paleo diet consists of what its advocates believe to be how mankind ate many thousands of years ago before the advent of agriculture. Many people challenge its assumptions and question its effectiveness. Just about any diet will work if you stick with it. Over 95% of everyone who looses weight later gains it back regardless of their approach.
