Just to follow up my last reply.

Hi, If it is painful and worrying you, please get it checked out with a doctor or call the hospital and see what they advise. They may be able to advise over the phone or they may ask you to go in.

See the following two links for the illnesses I mentioned:

http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/pancreatitis/

http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/gastritis/

As always, if you are worried about health problems, its always best to get checked out with a specialist.

Answer #3

Hi, Is the pain under your ribcage on your left side when you take a breath?

If so, our symptoms could be due to gastritis or pancreatitis. There are cases when patients who participate in abdominal surgery, soon after the surgery develop symptoms of gastritis or pancreatitis.

Both of these can be treated but please get back to your doctor so he can check you out for these.

Hopefully it wont be these and will be a normal part of the post operative healing process.

Take care

Call the doctor’s office (or hospital if the doctor isn’t in on Sunday) and get a recommendation. They know better what to expect post-op than we do.
