how to convince my parents to let me dye my hair & get piercings?

Well I’m on the same boat as you sadly. :(

What I’m trying to do is I basically say “I’ll do the chores (thats an example) for so-and-so months if you let me do it” I don’t know I’m trying many stuff.

And peircings are AWESOME !!

My parents think it’ll screw up my face- which is seriously messed up because a good friend of mine got her nose peirced, and my parents didn’t even regognize it!! -.-

lol, well, I realize the damage they COULD POSSIBLY DO. But for the most part, and especially if one handles the piercings with great care, they aren’t so bad. My great friend Missy got her nose and lip pierced and after about a year, she got them removed because she didn’t want them anymore. ((: And she bears no noticeable scars.

I’m just sayinnn.

I’ve gotten so close to convincing them. It’s more my mom than my dad, surprisingly. But my mom was the “preppy, good-girl of the eighties”. haa, and my dad was the “rocker” – the lead guy in a kickace band.

Anywaysss. I’d really love some help! Please do not try to lecture me out of wanting/getting them. I will eventually, there’s no way ‘round thaat. I just want them before I’m eighteen! lol.

I dunno if you noticed but your parents are letting you do things that affect you temporarily, but are keeping you from doing things that will affect you permanently. they’re doing that because you lack the foresight to see that in a few years you’re not going to want the piercings you want now, but you’ll forever have funky scars where you got yourself pierced. maybe you should listen to them, and hold off on the piercing train for a while. just a thought…anyways, live the dream.

I didn’t look at any answers above. Anywho, peircings are ugly.

You should hold until you are really sure you want those piercing because pretty much people grow up to regret making permanent scars on their body..
