Why doesn't my computer have an audio device?

I checked everywhere!

I went to start, then control panel. Went to sounds and devises ( I think that is what it is labled), and I clicked on it. it says: No Audio Device.

I try and look around, and alot of things I am unable to click. I do not know when this started, or what I installed at the time. All I ever install is Online games.

One day it just stopped working, only sometimes it beeps when I get a IM, but, I fixed that with IM settings.

PLEASE HELP ME!

I would uninstall your “online games”. Then I would check your device manager in control panel to see if the sound card is being detected by the computer. (I believe it is in the “System” icon). If everything seems to be good….. then you need to start checking connections first. Try out the speaker line going into the computer on a CD or MP3 player to make sure the speakers are working.

If all of the mechanical problems are ruled out…. then you need to do some more intensive things to look for bugs on your computer that may have hijacked certain settings. If you truly believe this is the case (which is very rare) then funmail “funguy” here on FunAdvice to help you. He can walk you through the processes and give you links to software to make the process quicker.
