Why my computer doesn't have sound?

My computer just all of a sudden doesn’t have any sound at all!(my speaker is inside the monitor kind). I tried start>control panel>sound and audio devices and everything was just not able to be click on! Also, the little speaker icon was not on the start bar! I recently ‘disk cleanup’ my computer and installed netscape navigator due to the failure of mozilla firefox. I thought it was the media players that effects the speaker, so I uninstalled real player and window media player then reinstalled again! But the situation stays the same, nothing changed! Can you please help me with my speaker! :<

Answer #1

First of all, check the cables and restart your system. If that doesn’t help look for any automatic updates that might have come that day. Maybe one of them broke it.

What Operating system and what version of it do you have? If you have Windows, check the sound card driver in the device manager. Download the newest version of your sound card driver from the sound card manufacturer and reinstall the driver.

hope I could help the sheep

It could be a problem with your sound card. A few factors are involved. What kind of computer, operating system, sound card?

You can troubleshoot the speaker by trying an alternate speaker. Either one that plugs into the stereo outlet or a USB type. Good Luck!
