New belly button ring is it infected??

Ok so I just got my belly button pierced friday and today is when. So yea it was fine the day I got it pierced and the day after but ever since then it has been hurting and has a little bit of white pus coming out the top and I have been cleaning it like 5 times a day with alchol and I am worried it is infected whats the matter and what should I do??

Answer #1

Stop using alcohol and start using peroxide.

Answer #2

Salt water! Not anything else! And cleaning it 5 times a day is just as bad as not cleaning it at all. Cleaning it too much can irritate it even more. Clean it 2-3 times a day and no more.

Answer #3

okay well I got mine done like 3 months ago. the white pus stuff is sorta its way of cleaning out, it should be sorta clear though.

if its close to a yellowy colour THEN its pus( I learnt that from my sister and my friends and stuff)

and yeah if its really hurting DONT use alcohol, do what the other person said with the sea salt, thats what I did it worked really well.

or you could just buy the antiseptic spray for peircings.

and only clean it 3 times a day it will heal a lot easier. its less painful; 5 times a day is just a little bit excessive

hope it helps:)

Dont use any of that crappp use sea salt and water shake it up and mix it real good dont use to much sea salt.. and put the cup over your belly button be careful tho it can be messyh if you dont get the cup over your belly button I learned that one real well haha it cleans it very well

I was 16 when I had my friend do mine, I just had a sterile needle that was new but I kept putting sea salt and water mixed together and it was never infected and I didnt get even get that thing professionally done

Answer #6

SALT WATER alcohol and poroxide irritate the skin

get a shot glass fill it with FULLY dissolved salt water lean back with it kinda suctiond to your belly button leave that for about five mins and do it that way four or five times a day and you should be good

and its gunna look and feel infected for at least the first wweek

Answer #7

Dont use salt water its aloowed of sht it does nothin, Hyrdogen peroxide use it asap. it gets rid of all the dead skin tissue which cause infection. the piercers even recomend it. use voltage 20 or below and always dilute it with water I have used it for 2 years on all my 8 piecings and I have never had an infection. Never use above 20 and always dilute it.

Answer #8

I got told to clean mine with warm water and cotton balls and just make sure your moving it so it doesnt scab over. But if your unsure and its hurting a lot go to see your dr to put you at ease

Answer #9

NEVER USE PEROXIDE!!! that is not made for your skin.

Listen to kimmy, use salt water. don’t use alcohol. the salt water will heal it and disinfect it, I also used saltwater with mine and it never got infected.
