My Mom puts me down for my clothes

my mom is always putting me down because of the cloths I wear..she gets mad at me because I dont like to wear many colors … I have a lot of black cloths (that is all I ever wear) she say I look like a prostitue…and all that bull .. I like my black t-shrits and pants but what do I tell her to make her stop

Answer #1

Whether desired or not, your clothes project an image in ones mind of that person (ie: first impression) - if it’s a good/desirable one great, if not, a change may be in order - your choice - appears to me, your Mom CARES, many, many don’t - you should be Thankful…Take care !!

Answer #2

I am not inito that bright color stuff .. why cant she just let me be me … she only wants a reason to put me down I am stuipid or I cant do anything right .. she tell me she wishes I was never born

Answer #4

well, I had that problem. my mom wanted me to wear brighter clothes and she was always nagging me about it. I told her that just because I wear those colors dont mean im goth/emo or anything like that. I asked her to accept that you like those colors and she should respect that even if she doesnt aproove, but I dont mean that you shouldn’t care about her feelings. maby you should buy a couple brighter clothes to make her a little happier! srry if it didnt help, I hope it did!

Answer #5

well your moms seems to care about you and your life don’t get smart with her because of her nagging just talk to her tell her that you are not being a prostitue or anything like that try to get her to understand just remember she was a kid once an she is just trying to give you abetter life than she or people she knew did. it not that your mother is trying to ruin your life it is that she really loves and cares about you an you need to think about that cause you could wake up one day an she wont be there you wont have a chance to thank her for being there for you or for you to appricate her just remembers there is no other love than what a mothers has for her child .

Answer #6

While Amblessed is on the right track by saying your mother’s comments are out of her concern for you, comparing you to a prostitute is unacceptable behavior. Making you feel bad about yourself and putting you down is abhorrent behavior, especially from a mother.

Try to sit down with her and explain why you like the clothing you like, and tell her how much it hurts your feelings when she insults you.

Answer #7

just tell her she shouldnt worry about it its not her that is wearing the clothes and tell her that you will get a couple of colored shirts as long as she promises to quick gripping and nagging but it doesnt mean that you are going to quit wearing your black clothes trust me it works on me but my stories kinda different but it should still help you
