Does he really expect me to forgive him? Should I?

So about a month or 2 ago, after I hadn’t seen my dad in a while (my parents are divorced and I live with my mom), he called and was yelling and threatening me. He said “I will fly through your front door and grab you by the neck. It’ll be the worst f**king nightmare you’ve ever seen.” I told my mom and she told him to leave me alone, and I’ll talk to him if I want to. And now hes sending me emails saying that hes sorry. Does he really expect me to forgive him? Should I? I most likely won’t, but I just wonder what you guys would do

Answer #1

There’s absolutely no excuse for his behaviour, but surely there was a reason?

Understanding why he did it would help determine whether or not he should be forgiven.

Answer #2

Figure out why he did that, there had to be a reason. There should always be room in your heart to forgive, especially people so close to you.
