Just go and have fun like you would have done in the first place. Parents always think like that. In time they will learn that your not like that.

Some parents are too burrowed in their past to see the light of a positive future.

You just gotta put a smile on and remember not to say anything you wouldnt want to hear from another especially in times of need.

DO NOT EVER EXPLAINE WHY. Show “how” by acting upon your truth in a welcoming way. If for some reason your mom is not welcoming or willing to accept your welcoming demeanor, at least provide a chance for them to approach if they want.
