does the 16 year old have the right to move out on his own?

Answer #1

In some states u can get (another name for it) but it means a devorce from your parents. However, its through the state and you need to have a way to suport yourself and/or a place to stay.

Answer #2

Usually, but only with parental concent. If you don’t have the money for a place the council won’t give you one without a letter from your parents saying that you’ve been kicked out. This is until you’re 17, so best to wait it out without a care

Answer #3

That really depends on the state you live in and the circumstances of the move. If this is an issue of abuse their are laws to protect you.

Answer #4

Some states you have a right, but it’s no fun living on your own. I’m sure it sounds pretty cool to you now, but are you thinking this through thoroughly? Better stay at home until you are 18, or until you have a job and finish school. Most times living at home is better than living on the streets. You have a warm place to stay, people to interact with, food. So you think your parents might be stict, live w/it until you are capable to think on your own. I know you didn’t ask for all this, but thought it might give you something to think about before trying to make the move away from security. At 16 you are not really capable of thinking straight . Good luck to you.
