You both have some great points, however, something to keep in mind is that you are talking of two different circumstances… one before “the fall” when Adam and Eve partook of the apple and one after the fall when men and women came under the curse.

Men and Women were meant to be great leaders together, in true partnership. The curse of men ruling over women is exactly that, part of the curse. However, Jesus came to break all curses and the curse no longer applies, unless we choose to live underneath it.

Jesus had many men friends, but he also had many close women friends. He valued women in a way that had even his disciples questioning him. My advice is to read the gospels that have the first hand account of Jesus and then interpret every other scripture from the perspective of what Jesus would say, making sure it lines up with Jesus’ words (which weren’t religious, but loved based) and make sure it measures up to what God intended men and women to be BEFORE the fall! That is the kind of life that Jesus provided for us to be living now.

G-d intended for both man and women to rule over the earth. The man was to be a spiritual leader, the wife to support him. But both were to act as one.
