Why do I see strong swirls of color when meditating?

Thanks for the post silverwings. I appreciate and respect everyone and what they have to say. This may come as a surprise to you, but I am a Christian. I have been baptised, “saved” and all of the above. I believe Jesus is a protector and not once do I feel as if I am able to be harmed by anything because he carries me in his arms at all times. It may be confusing to hear that someone that meditates for tranquility is Chritstian, but I don’t read spell books and mix things together in a pot, lol. I am very much aware of what is right for me and what is not. This said, I do not judge others and what they choose to participate and believe in. We all have our own “truths” so to speak. The movie “The Secret” can be seen from many different perspectives. I can’t comment on the perspective of another, but I can explain my own. The movie, to me, encourages one to life their lives with unconditional love, passion, faith and joy. Everything about life is beautiful and should be cherished. I believe in living a joyful life and want to attract goodness and good people into my life. Whether one is Christian, Jewish, Buddist or Hindu, God wants us all to live together in peace and joy. He has put us here to appreciate what he has created for us and allows us to have the free will to create whatever it is we desire. When I say we create what it is we want, I mean that how we perceive things shapes our experience. If we fear, we live our lives afraid. I can easily understand why you see the film as evil, given you have had a negative experiences in your life. The ideas you hold in your heart shaped the message you received. If you feel that way, watching the film and speaking of it may not be a good idea, for you want to live fearlessly. Practicing your faith and staying true to your beliefs is crucial. It is our beliefs after all that influence us most.

I am a Christian and I meditate often. I also see swirling colors when I meditate and have not figured out the meaning yet. It is not an occult, but maybe God is trying to show you something just pray and ask God to show you the meaning.

Silverwings: I am a proud Pagan and I can assure you that is not what it is. Their is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in The Bible that says anything wrong with metaphysics. I have studied theology for eight year… You must have read from a Bible written by a cult.

In reference to the occult power…No way. I meditate to relieve stress and obtain a spiritual experience. It all started with that movie “The Secret”, which really works by the way.

Its a condition where a person’s mind can interpret different sounds, tastes, or smells… as colors.

So in addition to smelling, hearing, and tasting things normally; the person also gets a colorful light-show.

I would say that you are tapping into some kind of occult power, and that this is very dangerous inded. You mention crystals… what other means to you use to contac the other side? Have you been studying New Age philosophy? I know very little about this kind of thing because I am a Christain, and it is forbidden by the bible, but, that is what it sounds like.

Jersey… I haven’t seen that movie yet, but, I do have it ordered from Netflix, so I really can’t say much until I actually see it, but, I have heard enough about it that I believe mind science or the power of the mind, and the power of man is the guiding force behind it. I do not believe that it gives any credit to God, whatsoever, only man… and I believe that this is the time that we are coming into. On other boards online, there are multitudes of people that have no faith whatsoever in God, they believe nothing when it comes to the bible, or the things of God. So, this appears to be a huge wave that is coming on the world. And this movie, is of course, right on time. Satan always has things in place to deceive, and he is contstantly trying to take the credit away from God, that is why Christians believe that we are fast approaching the end of the age, as we know it.. The signs are all around us, calamity everywhere, upheavels in nature, chaos and trouble on every hand… Jesus teachs us in his word to observe the signs of the times, so that we will know when the Day of the Lord, approaches, so that we will be prepared for it.. I think we need to get our houses in order, for this humanistic movement is coming like a tidal wave, and it is going to suck many under. Look at this board for example, watch what happens when anything of faith is mentioned.. the vultures pluck it out, immediately… they are on the ball, and doing exactly what their father would have them do.. Christians need to be alert and on the ball too.. Watch and wait, for our redemption draweth nigh. When Noah was saved from the flood, there were only 8 people that were saved with him, watch over those of your own household, reach out to those that you can, and let the rest of them rock on… to their own peril. Don’t loose what you have on the account of them… hold firm to the faith that you have… The dividing lines are becoming very clear… and defined… it is very easy to see who has faith, and who does not…the fruit is clear… whether it is bad fruit or good fruit… the actions are very clear… the words of the mouth, either justify or condemn…the love or lack of love, clearly defines…

and back to the original post, there are all kinds of powers out there, that can be tapped into, and Jesus says that if they do not come thru him, they are a thief and a robber… so… if you care about being lined up with God and his word, make very certain that this power is from him… it can lead you astray. New Age has power… but, it is not an authorized power.. in other words, it is not given thru Jesus Christ, so is a foreign power, from the enemy, he does counterfeit everything that God does, so, if you don’t accept Jesus as savior, and follow his commands, then more than likely this power is from the occult.. Even if you did not intentionally tap into this, which it sounds like you didn’t, it came to you, thru the family blood line… and there is something called familiar spirits, they are from Satan, and they do follow the bloodline… passed from one generation to another, so, if the fruits of the Holy Spirit are not there, then the power is probably from Satan instead of God. His intentions are totally diff. from Gods.. I came in contact with this power, and it caused me extensive harm… it was not something that God wanted in my life, because it was not from him, but, I didn’t know it at the time, and it took awhile to figure it out. The bible says to test the spirits, and if they or you, cannot say that Jesus Christ is Lord, then the power is not from God, but Satan. Counterfeit… come for one purpose, to steal, kill and destroy that which is of faith, or of God.. Satan wants to lead us into his camp and away from God… and he uses every means possible to do so. He is the master counterfeiter… his ways don’t line up with Gods word.. they go against it… they don’t lead people to God, but away from him. Hope I havn’t confused you, and I will be more than willing to talk further about this, if you want, and nothing that I have said is meant to offend you in any way, God is for you… and it is my intention to share his truth, to the best of my abililty… but, God has a way… and Satan has a way… and it is up to us to figure out which one we want to follow.
