What is the cause of a lump behind your ear?

My friend has a lump behind her ear, around the size of a pea but a little smaller. She says that it goes away and when it comes back, the area throbs, and she ends up getting a bad headache from it. She’s been experiencing it for about a year and says it has gotten a little bigger since then. Should she see a doctor? Should she be worried? What could this be?

Ahh i read that wrong. I didnt know ito was for a friend. either way, thats her lymph nodes and if its been there over a year, coming and going, she may have an infection or something that led to much more, especially if she gets headaches often as well. advise her to see a doctor about it.

Dear retronesss, It may be nothing to worry about but she really needs to see a doctor. Anytime there are changes in the body the first line of defense is to consult a doctor. I’m sure she would be very glad to have it taken care of so she won’t get anymore headaches. Sue…good luck

There are Nodes behind there Basically that means booger deposits. When they get big,That means you have some sort of infection, and it is going to the nodes. It should clear up on its own, but if it doesnt within a week, Id see a doctor =]
