Is it legal for a kids parents to kick them out and make them live somewhere else if the kid is only 15?

No, I believe that is child abandonment….unless the child is taken away, or forced by the courts to live somewhere else…I don’t believe it is legal. Just like it’s not legal for the child to live anywhere else if the parents say no…they would have to be emancipated.

I am not sure if it is exactly child abandonment…but it’s something like that. They might have a specific name for it, I don’t know.

I haven’t been kicked out YET but they threatened to make me live with my aunt >.> I wonder if she has wifi..

Not sure, but they would defiantly do something. I would call social services. Call them crying…and tell them that your parents told you that you couldn’t live with them anymore, and that you are 15… -sniffle- lol

Yeah, I’m feeling tons better :) and they threatened to kick me out cuz I’m rude and obnoxious and they don’t want me there, they’re just taking care of me out of the goodness of their hearts so I should smarten up!!!!! >:( XD haha.

Considering Connor, that you live in Canada, where the legal age to leave home is 16, there are a lot of teens who leave at 15 - I was kicked out at 15. The police won’t do anything unless you make a request, but would you want to go back after that?

My parents suck too. Except they’re just the opposite. They won’t let me leave the house most of the time. Ran away last year and they almost called the cops… It was a big mess, etc. And thank you Colleen! You turned out okay. This proves my point that parents are unnecessary after you hit a certain point of maturity which I hit long ago. And I’m sorry Connor. My parents suck too. =/

Seek therapy. Seriously, parents are not perfect. If they love you and don’t want you to resent them forever, you all should sit down with a professional and hash it out. Sounds like they have some of their own issues that have affected you. I’m sorry that you are having to deal with their problems. It’s not your fault…it’s theirs. I know it hurts, but it’s ok. Be better than they ever were to you! Don’t become who they are.

Kicking you out is not the same thing as having someone else look after you. If parents can send you to boarding school, then what’s to stop them from asking a relative to take care of you? There’s a huge difference between child abandonment and relative care.

Well sorry about that. But legally they can send you to whatever relatives house they want to, and if they kick you out well u have one more year so I don’t think the cops would do anything.
