What's the legal age to move out in Texas?

Ya so I’m turning 17 in a few months and I really need to know if I can get out of my house, without there consent, It’s not because I’m rebelling or anything really, but my dad has done a lot to me that I can never forgive him for and I’m tired of feeling trapped in my own house. I’ve been researching and so far apparently all I have to do is tell them where I’m at and that I’m ok, but I also have to have transportation, have a permanent place to live, and be able to support myself. I’m wondering though because my boyfriend will have a place for us to live, do I HAVE to be living on my own or not?

I wouldn’t be worried where your boyfriend is living. I would hurry up and call child protective services if you say he is being abusive. Then if someone else cared for you maybe you would be able to slow down and not stress out about living situations and money and transportation. You’re too young to have to worry about this on your own. Take care. I hope you listen to me.

ok, so you have to wait till your 18 to legally live by yourself unless you are emancipated from your parents, unfortunately… that is how it is, but it is very possible for you to go live with your boyfriend as long as it is ok with your dad because he could report your boyfriend.. :] goodluck.
