Answer #4

I’ve been in this situation first hand. The age in which a child can move out in Texas is 17, the catch is that the parents are still legally and financially responsible for the child. This means the authorities will assist the parent in keeping the child with them. The law is not very clear cut in Texas and the majority of law officials do not even know the law. This law needs to be changed to help the parents and the children. Let me reinterate, these are children we are speaking of. Each situation is different, but they are still children. Any one in the state of Texas and walk into a Judical Judges chambers and ask to speak with the Judge on the matter. Majority of Judges want to help.
