Leaving Home

My mom doesn’t want me here and I don’t wanna be here, at home. I’m 17 and 1/2 and already have a place to go to. A cop said though, if I do leave, all my mom has to do is call them and it’ll be a “runaway”

Answer #1

Actually it depends on the laws in the state you live in, there are a lot of states where 17 is the legal age to move out without being considered a run away. Look it up on google and try and find out what it is for your state. I moved out when I was 17 which is legal in Texas.

Answer #2

I understand why your mother thinks that way at you… she knows that you haven’t established your self well enough and might get harmed if continued to move out of your house… please… focus on your studies instead of anything else… you won’t find a good job that’d feed your self at that age, knowing nothing much but basic things…

Answer #4

Answer #5

6 more months, and you can leave! Only 6 more months. Where would you go right now? Why do you want to leave? Why does your mom want you to leave/not want you there?

Answer #6

Yep, if she decides to play an evil trick and call the police when you leave you’ll be considered a “runaway”!

Answer #7

You can emancipate yourself. Like, legally separate yourself from your mom. You have to be able to prove you’ve got a steady source of income and a place to live and take your case to a court.
