Is the "Kony 2012" situation just spam?

there has been loads of news and discussions about kony. but there have been claims that it is a spam. to what extent is this true?

Answer #1

I honestly stopped supporting it because the night I found out about it, things blew up, but it slowly died down as days and time went by. Do I think it’s a scam? Part of me does and part of me doesn’t.

I am very sure that if it were real, Barack Obama would have put a stop to it as soon as it reached his knowing.

Every person has their own views on it, I don’t follow behind it because I don’t want to get caught up with “politics” that just doesn’t make sense.

Answer #2

Well, There were several people that are from Uganda (parents) and they said Kony died 5 years ago. Kony still did that to the children, but I personally think that Kony died 5 years ago and that we are being scammed for our money, Cause If he’s dead whats that point of donating?

Answer #6

Wow ^^ are you serious? that has NOTHING to do with Kony. If Obama doesnt wanna do it ! Then probably Kony died 5 years ago. It was stated by several families who were born & raised in Uganda and moved to America. common sense.

Obama isn’t lazy Obama knows though you all say go get kony it would only take a week before you all complained about us being in another war.

Answer #11

I tell my friends there is a way to support the movement in a “safe” way. If you want to donate money, donate to a charity you trust, not just invisible children. Remember this movement isn’t just about Kony, it is about setting a precedent for future issues like this in the hopes that next time, we won’t wait 26 years to do something. I just be happy that my generation cared about something besides Snooki being pregnant or the Kardashians and I use this movement to remind me to get involved in the world each day. I did buy a bracelet, but only so when I look at it I can ask myself “what did I do today?” and I vowed that I will be louder when it comes to things like this in the future to help put an end to it. Try to put a deeper spin on the Kony2012 movement.

Answer #14

It’s a coalition of the naive. A tidal wave of Dudley Do-Rights who are long on good intentions but short on attention spans… and are having their heart strings plucked to whatever tune the Devil… in this case… AFRICOM… calls.

The ouster…[read assassination] of Qaddafi was much more about re-routing Libyan oil from China and quashing its gold backed Dinar before it got off the ground and instituting western usury it its place… than it was about saving Libyan babies from Qaddafi’s phantom r@pe gangs.

This is no different. The precedent being sold to the gullible left for philanthropic intervention is just a disguise for military adventurism under a Democratic administration. It’s a way for leftist warhawks to feel stoic in their demands for bloodshed. Because… the powers that be know that however well intentioned their public are… they’re not big on scrutinizing the actual facts of the matter.

Answer #15

angel he sent 100 military advisers that not sending troops and those 100 people returned in less than 4 months

Answer #16

“the invisible children” charity are a bit extreme in wasting donation money on silly mindless events, eg: production cost etc. Anyone here read about the co-founder who was for alleged drunkeness and mastur–bating in public….Great way to bring down his own charity by this pubic display of stupidity.

Answer #17

oops should be who was arrested for alleged drunkness and mastur-bating in public. Damn edit button when you need it the most.
