Is there any kinda medication to prevent mood swings?

You know, mood swings are natural, you shouldn’t be taking medication to get rid of every little problem that bothers you, it can’t be healthy. There could be worse side effects that stem from the meds. Learning how to better control yourself during mood swings would be a better idea. I’m just not a fan of how over-medicated people seem to be nowadays. Just my two cents.

There are many things your doctor can perscribe you. I have been on several things but ambilify and lithum helped me the most. I am a diagnosed with a couple mental disorders though, one of them being bi-polar. Meaning massive mood swings. I have been medicated 14 of my almost 26 years. I hate being medicated though. I have been off meds for about 6 months now and I feel more human with out them. Some relaxation tips I get from my doctor.are wearing a rubber band and snapping it when I feel a mood swing coming on, putting in ear plugs, going to a quiet place, writing in a journal, drawing, reading, ect. Its best to try to control your mood swings yourself then being medicated. The longer you take meds the higher the dosage it becomes. Trust me, being on medication is pure hell for some people!

No. There are such things as mood stabilizers. For people who have bipolar disorder. They are last resort and definitely not something anyone takes lightly. Lithium for example has a lot of side effects, and contraindications and is generally is very complicated to take. Go see a therapist first.
