Try a dressing such as Ranch. It may teach him to learn to like them. If not Ranch, try lots of butter or margarine.

Answer #2

INstead of cooking them plain add a sauce or something to them or do some fun recipes that he can help you with that way it taste good and he enjoys doing it.

Answer #3

One way that always works is juicing them. I know it sounds weird but trust me, he will think it’s a deliciouse drink when it’s really just those veggies he hates.

Answer #4

my mom hides veggies in the stuff she makes… sometimes she would even puree the veggies and put it in the casserole… the kids could never tell the difference… especially if there is lots of flavors.

when I was little my mum use to tell me that if you eat carrots you wont need glasses when your older, if you eat peas they stop you from getting head aches just try makeing up a different story for each 1, I soon ate them all up lol

In my family we have a small desert every night but my sisters can’t have their desert until they finish everything on their plate. This includes all vegetables and salad and if they don’t finish all of their food they get no desert, even if they cry a lot. They also cannot sit at the table for I while after we are done not eating their vegetables. Once we finish eating (and trust me, it takes a while), we take their plate off of the table and they have no desert. I hope I helped…

Dear monica1, Never make meals power stuggles…this will cause him to hate foods and could even develop an eating disorder because of it. Never use deserts as a reward for eating; this sends a bad message. He loves the “little trees” you are lucky…keep giving these to him. Add multi vitamins for children. His tastes will change sometimes weekly. So keep trying new things. We never make people especially children eat what they don’t like…think this way would you eat something you didn’t like?? Just keep trying new things and you can always hide them in other stuff. Blend the vegetables and put them in burgers, soups etc. Sue…good luck

You could try to give your kids a story for each veg or you can do what my mother does and conceals it. No child really likes to eat their veggies but my mother made the veggies with a cheese sauce covering it and I still like it up to this very day. I doubt that your kids will question whats in it because it really does taste good. Hope this helps. I haven’t heard of this method failing yet. But if it doesn’t work then bribing them with desert would be a good option.

I agree the power struggles don’t work, and really mess up everyone’s lives. Instead, I made my two sons a chart to mark on what fruit and veg they had eaten each day. I told them they had to eat at least five (that’s the healthy advice) but they could eat more. As soon as they’d eaten one, they could draw a little picture of it on the chart.

My elder son (who was about 7) ate about 7 every day.My smaller son (aged 5) was jealous and started eating vegetables just to keep up with his brother. I let him draw the vegetables on even if he’d only eaten a tiny portion of them - just to get him into the idea of trying new types of veg. He’s now 9 and is still not great at eating vegetables, but he’s learned to eat small amounts of whatever he’s given, and learned to like some new ones!

trying to cook the vegi’s in different styles until you find the way he’ll eat them.
