If I had to choose between just the two of them, I would choose Carl Jung over Freud. I have a Masters in Psychology, and I have never bought into the whole “sexuality profiling” that Freud projected. In other words, a baby wants a pacifier for sexual reasons! That’s hilarious! What an idiot…Carl Jung definitely.
Neither? Later psychoanalytic theories became a little better (Self psychology, object relations theory) but it’s kinda hard to buy into the purer forms that came out of the early works. Jung’s theories are certainly interesting but cant really buy into either.
