Josef Stalin was from 1941 to 1953, the premier of the Soviet Union, Stalin was responsible for his idea of Socialism in one country and one. during the late 20’s Stalin helped transform the USSR into a great and industrial power, setting the foundations for its emergence as the worlds second largest economy after WWII.

However, during this period, Stalin is believed to have been responsible for the death of as many as 20 million people, having sent people to labour and penal camps and in 1937 alleged enemies of the regime led to the great purge a period in which hundreds of thousands of people were killed.
