It seems I can give advice but not take it

Okay. When I say this I am NOT bragging.

But it’s like..I can give advice to anyone about anything almost. I mean not like EVERYTHING. But most things. Things that my friends&&older friends deal with and I give them advice that is great. that they use and thank me for. And it can be on subjects that I dont even have experience in. or stuff I am dealing with. like cutting. I can say the right thing to my friends to help them or help them quit when I myself am a hypocrite! I mean, why can’t I take my own advice?? I know what to do and what to say but still..in any situation it’s like I’m oblivious to the obvious.

well said ethmer… people who have dealt with things can talk about it, because they know where the other person is coming from. They build empathy because they’ve suffered themselves… it’s not so easy talking to yourself though…

  It’s because you are not involved in their circumstances so you can give objective advice.

But, when it comes to yourself, you can’t be objective because you ARE influenced by your emotions and personal prejudices.

I do the same thing often. it’s pretty much cause stuff is easier said then done. you need to make sure not to put people in front of you, it may sound selfish but truly you matter most to yourself. and it’s way more simple helping someone with there own problems then dealing with your own. I wish I could help more cause I pretty much just stated facts but I am not sure even what your question is. if you have any specific questions please message me =]
