Is a 5-year age difference too much for a relationship?

I’m 18, and I am wondering, is a 23 year-old too old to consider as a boyfriend? I don’t think I am more physically mature than an average 18 year-old, but I am more mentally mature.

If you do think that a 5-year difference is too much, then what would you say is the max age difference for an 18-year-old? How old would I have to be until a 5-year difference is no longer taboo?

Recently, several guys who are 3-5 years older than me have been pursuing me. Has this happened to any of you and how did you handle it?

I think that it is fine and I am 18 also!

Honestly, I enjoy older men. They are more mature. It is an advantage for you, but you have to protect yourself. A lot of older men pursue younger women primarily for sex. Do not give in quickly and make him respect your boundaries; this will serve you well.

I think thats ok!!! My boyfriend is 24 and I’m 19, we started going out when I was 18 & he was 23, and the age difference has never been a problem:)

There is nothing wrong with 5 years difference, its actually better i find becos guys between 18-21ish are all still trying to find themselves and are still immature and dont no what they want and tend to play alot of mind games. But im not saying that there arnt guys between 22-30 like that either, be careful these guys want you not a booty call. Its difficult to tell with guys these days, personally i dont date guys older then 26-27 and im 20. Oldest guy i have ever dated was 24.
