Is there an easy medium to my weight and health?
my mom is concerned with my weight she thinks I am to under weight but I dance ballet and if I gain the smallest amount of weight my director gets on my case I feel I need to be the size of the girls that dance that are years younger then me im only 17 and im 5’7 and I weigh 72 lbs I eat 3 times a day just small amounts but I dance over 8 hr a day and work out at least 2 I need ot know if this is wrong of me to do or if there is a easy medium because my mom is so worried.
Was that a doctor’s scale? If not, I think yours is off a little. If I’m wrong, then see above, as I would concur.
^ wow you are seriously underweight! singsthesorrow is right. I think people of such a low BMI are “sectioned” and made to gain weight if their weight is due to an eating disorder. I know you must have to do a lot of physical training for your ballet, but do you have to do that much? are you still losing weight? if you are and you can’t ut back on excercise, then you’ll have to eat more. be careful.
You have a BMI of 11.6, thats very low. Anything under about 18 is underweight. If they are years younger than you (or more importantly shorter than you) then obviously they are going to weigh less than you. At the moment you are unhealthily thin and if you don’t gain more weight then you’ll be looking at a short life. If your director doesn’t want you to be healthy then to hell with them.
well…does your director know that muscle weighs more than fat AND you can turn fat into muscles… your mom’s just being a mom BUT health does come first so reassure her you’re eatting healthy and the right amounts and if she’s still worried well talk to her about readjusting your diet or go to your family doctor to discuss some ideas you can use =)
