I Want A Guinea Pig

Ok, so I have a dog, but I want MORE responsiblity. I want a guinea pig. Maybe two. I have enough money for everything it takes to buy one, I said that I would do everything that needs to be done for it. I said that I would love it and play with it and everything! But, my parents said no. I feel like I NEED a guinea pig. Any ideas on what I can do to convince my parents to let me have one? But, what are my other choices? If I can’t get a pet, what can I do? Maybe it’s just bordem, or maybe I really do want to show my parents that I am very responsible. Help! Cassidy

Why only one?

Answer #2

Oh, and don’t bother them about it. Maybe dropping a few hints would work, but don’t every second of the day go up to them in their face and annoy them about the pigs! haha I hope it all works out for you girl :] Fun Mail me and tell me how it goes!!

Answer #3

Just be very persuasive, haha, but keep a straight face and let them know you’re absolutely serious about this. It might take a few days for them to make a decision or loosen up, but just give them the time they need so they don’t feel pressured which could cause them to say no! goood luckkk! =] haha.

thanks dadadaniee! you really helped! I’m going to talk to my parents tonight about it. got any advice about talking to them?

Answer #5

I want two, but do they play well togther? do they play at all? I really wanted two, and if I get one and then wait a while and get another will they still be friends?

Answer #6

It’s easier to take care of one for the first time, unless you REALLY think you’re ready, by all means go ahead and get two.

Answer #7

Don’t get a guy and a girl. They’ll mate and you’ll have like, 45678590284 babies. haha not literally.. sometimes two males will fight each other and eventually ending up killing each other. Get two females, because they’re calmer and get well together.

Hm… I suggest if you get two to get them at the same time so that they get used to each other immediately. It would also really help if you bought them from the same place, in the same cage/box or wherever they’re contained in so that they already know each other. It’ll be so much easier!

Answer #8

Well, I have two guinea pigs, and let me tell you, they’re honestly more work than a dog. You have to change their water twice a day, and add 15 Vitamin Drops to each bottle, change their food morning and night, give them plenty of fresh Timothy Hay 3 times a week, and clean their cage once a week, which is probably the WORST thing you will ever do in your life. It’s horrible.

You don’t want to try and convince them, because it can show desperacy, which you do not want them to see. Sit down and have a long talk with them explaining everything you’l do, and that you’re ready for a big responsibility like this. Good Luck! :)

By the way, please just start off with one. You’ll thank me later.
