How to convince my parents for a dog?

I want a dog but my parents won’t let me how do I get them to get me one

Answer #1

Tell them it is a great learning experence. You will learn how to be respnsible. You can spend your free time teacing it instead of smoking pot lol Or buy a fish and show them you take care of it so a dog will survive!

Answer #2

hmm do you have any friends you can pet sit for? maybe if you showed them that you’re responsible enough to care for someone else’s pet (and you can figure out if you really do want to do all the work involved…)

Answer #3

Why dont you say…u dont want me to be lonely do u …then be sweet as you can…or how about you start doing something like cleaning up when they dont tell you too do and that shows them that you are responsible for your own dog I had to do that once for my mom to get me a dog

Answer #4

Go about the “pre-dog” investigation…reading about different breeds, finding out what size, type, personality, would fit into the whole family the best…show them that your interest is very high, and they can see that you take getting this pet very seriously…If you’ve a “fly by night” on other things, you’ll have to prove that you are becoming a committed adullt…that they won’t be stuck with YOUR whim.

Answer #6

Answer #7

tell them you will be responsible for it and then be responsible if you are not a child who says one thing then does another they should trust a believe you then let them know that a dog if truly loved and cared for can be sooo much fun and truly your best friend.

Answer #8

well.. what you need to do is show your parents that you are responsible for your first dog.. by walking it without them w/ you, changing it’s water + food, playing with it and all the other responsibilitys you may need to do. And don’t tell your parents you want another dog until after you’ve shown your responsibility. Then pop the question! Also tell them that you would be great w/ two dogs and give them reasons why. After if you sense they are giving in, write an exceptional essay telling why. Then you might get your wish :)

Love, rOKi <3

Ps.. Keep in mind… getting a second is twice as many bones, walks, treats, bowls of food, vet bills and finally money! Is it worth it? Don’t just keep wanting more look at what you already have! Aka. your 1st dog :P

Well, I am in the same problem but I recently got some advice on how to convince them.

  1. You have to promise to take care of it, or they will think it is too much work.
  2. You probably have to save up for it, or they will think it costs too much.
  3. You have to be responsible for it at all times, or they could just sell it if you aren’t.
  4. Try getting the money for the dog first, and then presenting the money while asking. Also make sure you have enough for accessories.
  5. Do your parents break down after a ton of begging? THEN BEG!!!
