How to convince my parents to get a big dog

I really want a golden retriver but my parents wont budge. I already have a shi-tzu but she dosnt love me she dosnt do tricks and she is not traind good enough. I ask my parents everyday but they say noo their poop is too big and they get dirty! I really really want one I have had a hamster, chinnchilla. Cat, dog, and 2 birds. I try to show them im responsible. I feed and take my dog on walks but they dont understand what do I do!

I’m going to agree with phrannie on this one, the fact that your other dog isnt very well trained and that he doesn’t take to you very well, SHOWS that you aren’t responsible for your pets.

It’s a long time commitment having an animal and if you’re not able to handle a small dog, you won’t be able to handle a bigger dog.

Answer #2

If you didn’t train your little dog, for whatever reasons…why oh why do you think you’ll do better with a large VERY ACTIVE hunting dog??? I don’t blame your parents for not budging.

Answer #3

teach your dog tricks then you should get a bond with that dog…

maybe after they see you have done a good job with your other dog (pick up its mess walk it) they may change their mind

Answer #4

All you have to do is show more responsiblity than you already do. Its easy. All you do is get a job. Make a deal that you will keep that job and pay half the cost 4 the dog. You will also have to pay some for the nessecites. food, brushes ect.. As I said before its easy.

Answer #5

Then train the dog you already have. and dont think ‘you cant teach an old dog new tricks’ because that isnt true, you just need to have a lot of patience.

Answer #6

Well, tell them what they do, and what they dog would do for your parnets, and if you really really want one, tell them that you will do anything for that dog, get a job start babysitting and earn money! hope this helps hope you get that dog! =]

Answer #7

Just Buy one and get the previous owner to drop it off … LOL i have a small terrier/poodle and i didi that still got it , and a huge 140lb german Shepard… i did it that way to … and were not even aloud to have dogs, just do/buy everything on your own and dont bug you parents about it, and if they tell you the dogs gotta go ignore them and just fix what you did wrong
