I need help with my depression

I been depressed 4 a long time and im having a lot of break downs and I want it all to stop, right now I dont have anybody to talk to about it accept my boyfriend and I really want him to be da one I run to but he doesn’t realize how serious this is and im really hurt and im tired of feeling dis way. Does anybody have any ideas on what I should do???

I got depression. My way out was to find a true passion and to live that dream. Which I am TRYING to do now but my dream costs $$$ but its worth it. Racing bikes as a passion was my answer.

See a doctor, that helped me a bit. Can’t do any harm in seing a doctor so don’t say do it tomorrow, pick up phone and dial a doctor for an appointment. If he gives you medication, STICK TO IT EVERY DAY!!!

Avoid procrastination (putting things off) get a diary/day planner and use it. Using your day planner, set yourself realistic goals. Set yourself goals you will need to get yourself back on track, figure out whats most important and urgent and then break it up into mini-goals. For example, mine is to get a job. Break up the goal into several smaller easier to do goals. Mine would be Research how to do a CV (done), make the basic CV (done) touch up CV (done) print off CV X10 (done) Hand in 10 job application forms with CV’s attached (still doing). On Monday I Plan to print off 10 more and hand in those extra 10 plus any I have left over from before.

  The best thing would be to see a counselor or therapist. Otherwise, find someone you can talk with and air out your emotions and thoughts.

Fun Mail a “sounding board”!

I would assume that you can’t talk about what you are going through with anyone because it is too personal and you don’t want others to know about it in relation to you.

The solution, then, might be to pick someone on Fun Advice whose advice you like and Fun Mail them. (You can check out the quality of someone’s advice by clicking on their name; going down to their recent advice, click on view all, then click on the questions that might interest you and view their answers.) Explain to them that you are having problems and want to have someone to use as a “sounding board” and would like to know if they would be willing to be your sounding board. Fun Mail is basically private, so you shouldn’t have any concerns about your privacy.

Although there are many users on Fun Advice who would be qualified, I’d suggest the person be an Advisor, for two reasons: First, most Advisors have several hundred or even thousands of Answers under their belt which can really give you a perspective about them; and second, you can simply click on the Advisors link at the top of the page and view a list of the most recently active Advisors with information about them AND a total of their Answers. (Don’t contact them by that “Ask me a question” link. That’s public. Instead, click on their name which will take you to their Profile page, then click on the “Send me Fun Mail” link on the left side of the page.)

You also have the ability to Fun Mail anyone (Advisor or otherwise) by clicking on the “Send me Fun Mail” link near the top of the Answer under the person’s name.

I’ve suffered through depression for a VERY long time. Sometimes it seems like nothing will help. See a psychiatrist and a therapist. They really help. Trust me. The psychiatrist can analyze your situation from a medical point of view and the therapist is to help you learn to cope with life’s curveballs and is just someone to talk to if you need it.

hi maybe your not getting enough sleep, drinking too much, not doing exercise, are you eating healthy? All these sorts of things lead to a happy mind - I know you might not believe its that simple but its true. Also keep urself busy like work, study, help others, etc… Good luck

well first what are you break downs about? and whenever you have one just breath and think of something makes you happy trust me I have a lot of those break downs right now with my friend I cry everyday and night =[ suxs but I breath and think positive because I positive thought can never be denied

I suffer from Manic Depression and I hve since I was in high school so I know what you are dealing with and I just foundout I am now bi-polar which is the nex step in depression from what I have been told by a counselor if you want a way to deal with depression fin someone you can trust and tell them about your fears and what is causing your depression I can say it is easy because I am married so Ihave someone to talk to but its still hard to deal with it talking abot your problems is te asiest thing I can tell you to do it helps me

Welocome tew tha club…when I’m depressed I go swimming or I sit in the dark and sing…but that’s just mee…I guess go c a psychologist?
