I was brought up as a catholic went to a catholic primary school etc etc . . . At school you are constantly being reminded of God’s eternal love and forgiveness I think that Catholica schools can be quite biased towards catholicism we didn’t learn about other world religions until we got to secondary school. Being a Catholic isn’t really a big deal you can still believe in God and not be a catholic however there are certain ceromonies if you like that you have to go through to be a complete catholic. Firstly theres baptism where you are welcomed in to God’s family and presented with a name that your parents have chosen for you. secondly when you are about 8 you have your first holy communion where you can recieve the body and blood of Jesus (which is basically a small round host and a drink of wine). Then at whatever age you can be confirmed which is self explainatory

Answer #5

We believe in the Ten Commandments, Jesus as our Savior, God and the Holy Spirit. There are traditions in the Catholic church (like Reconciliation) that help members stay close to the lord. Members pray directly to Jesus (don’t listen to rumors and ignorant condemnation of Catholics). Catholics can also ask saints in heaven to pray to Jesus with them. Mary is NOT worshiped as a Goddess, another common misconception. Catholicism is Christian through and through. If you want more answers quickly without heavy reading, maybe pick up Catholicism for Dummies at the bookstore. But keep in mind that it is better to double check everything you read with an actual priest or other member of the clergy. They are friendly and willing to talk with you without any obligations.

Answer #6

You could always visit a Catholic church near you and talk to the preast. The person above explained the religion well.
