I have sinned big time

By seeing a married man,I feel so horrible, bad thing is I have love for this man,and he feels the same.

Answer #1

Yes, many religions and many communities consider it a sin to see or be ‘together with’ someone who is already married. Other religions and many local communities take a more pragmatic view.

Let’s face us: there are divorced people all around us, also on the site (me, for example). And there can be many, many reasons why a marriage breaks up, or why the one spouse falls in love with someone else.

Time is important: if you really love him, and he loves you, take time to let things develop. Let both of you find out what you really want - not just for now, but for the future.

Not all ‘love’ lasts, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t feel real at the time. There’s a great poem by Edna St Vincent Millay that ends like this:

‘After all, my erstwhile dear, my now no longer cherished, Need we say it was not love just because it perished?’

So… think things through, both of you. DOn’t rush it.

adultery: intercourse by a married person with someone other than their spouse - the bad news, yes, it is a sin - the great news is you can be forgiven but it’s up to you, if you’d like to know how: http://www.jesus2020.com/video.html

I wish you the best !!

Answer #4

I’m sorry that ‘fau above’ has such a severe view.

My point was that times change, as do acceptable standards. And in most places in the Western world today we find people doing things that weren’t acceptable only some decades earlier. (In my school in the 1950s there was only one girl of divorced parents, as far as I know.)

If we were to ostracize or condemn all the people who have committed adultery (by whatever definition) or otherwise broken the moral rules that we personally may hold, I fear the world would be a sadder (and smaller) place.

People who are in doubt - as the fau-questioner obviously is - need our love and understanding, not condemnation.

Answer #5

I don’t get it… fau… asks a question… then answers herself???

Answer #6

ps - recall the words of Christ, in John 8:7 - surely a better example to follow than condemnation?

Answer #7

If you feel bad about it, then don’t do it anymore.
