How to talk someone out of naming their kid blue?

It’s her child, not yours, so if she wants to name her baby Azul then that’s what the baby’s name will be. How would you like it if you were having a baby and you were naming it something you absolutely loved and she tried talking you out of it?

You can try giving your aunt some ideas for other names :)

I dont see anything wrong with the name. I dont even know how blues clues comes into this.

try a name that means blue, or means somethin thats blue:]

well have you tried talking to your aunt about your concerns for her babies happiness as she grows up? this might be a good starting point, as maybe your aunt may not understand that unique names are nice, but if the name is too outrageous it will cause her child to be teased. then you could maybe suggest a name for her, like if she wants a colour you could suggest the name Violet or something… Hope I helped, and good luck with changing your aunts mind! :)

they probably won’t make fun of her maybe they will but there’s someone named blue at my school and he’s very popular. He’s my bestfriend’s brother. They don’t make fun of him.

Greetings! Azul Maria sounds almost like a nickname, or a stage name. Blue Maria sounds like a stage name of some sort. How about suggesting that she switch ends - try Maria Azul. That way, the baby will have both a traditional and a unique name. In spite of our fears about names, though, very few are really horrible. I knew a kid one time named Sir Gerald. A little loser, but his mom insisted on the name because everyone who spoke to him would call him ‘sir’. Mom named one of my sisters Rosy Day, and called her Day, which didn’t get her any teasing at all. I was listening to the radio the other day and they were discussing names that have been given in the past year. These included Fyre (girl), Mystyry (g), Barackobama (b), Alleluya (g) and many that were just out to lunch! I like Maria Azul - it sounds nice - and the person will make the name, not the name make the person. Anyways, just my 2bits worth! Have fun!

like the other person said violet is a pretty name. you could try the name violeta azul or like you sid the middle was going to be maria. try maria azul. hope that works.

a school teacher in america reported a childs parents to social services for them giving their child a stupid name… surname ‘hole’ 1st name ‘anus’

yeah, thats pretty abusive and the parents were made, forced by a judge to give ther child a suitable name… I think it was in the usa but im not 100% certain cus it was many many many years ago now.. :S

why dont parents now think about the piss takin the child will receive at school.. blues clues is a bad name!

I see nothing wrong with the name Azul. If he child doesn’t like it, she can change it when she get’s older.

I know a little girl who got named Bumblebae (yes, bae) and that’s 500x worse than Azul. I don’t think Azul is that bad of a name anyway, it’s the parent’s kid. Plus, she can always just go by Maria.

Azul is a beautiful name, what exactly is the problem? Who is going to know that it means Blue? Unless she tells them.

I really like the name :) Its pretty, But not cutsie (like peaches or apple lol) and it will last a lifetime, it wont sound dumb when the baby grows up.

And by the time the child is at preeschool and school, Blues Clues will probably not be on TV anymore.

There are TONNES of even worse names. I really like the name Azul.
