How to stop my dog from humping?

my dog wont stop hummping things…help me

Answer #1

My neutered Boston Terrier will play with other dogs, then try to hump them – Alpha? He’ll play with the cat, then hump her (she’s spayed) – Alpha, again? (He was neutered 12/06). I shoot him with a water pistol; he hates that and will stop such beheavor. It’s the only thing I find that works, short of using a shock collar, which I won’t do.

dogs hump things even after they get fixed… its one of those things they inherit from wolves - a dominace thing- they want to be the alpha dog,a and in th ewild, the alfa dog is the one that gets everyone pregnant. if its a girl its the sam ething, but she really is just doing that because of the dominace thing.

Answer #3

This is inappropriate pack behavior and needs to be corrected. I recommend that you check out Leerburg Kennels on the web for more information.

Answer #4

when you neuter your dog he will stop humping just because he does it now does not mean he will do it after being neuter so just neuter him you will be happy and so will everything and everybody hes being humping lol!!

he’ll stop dont worry only if you neuter him thou!!

Answer #5

Get him neutered.

It’s not only the socially responsible thing to do (since we have such a huge pet overpopulation crisis in the US), it will also help his behavior and health.

Behaviorally, he will likely stop humping and be less likely to wander from your home looking for a mate.

Health-wise, it limits his risks of testicular cancer.

Answer #6

My dog used to keep huming things as well! He stopped because we lightly tapped his bum when ever he did. In the end he learned that it was wrong and so he stopped it completely. It is rather discusting especially when he did it to my leg and bed!

Try tapping his bum otherwise I don’t know!!

Answer #7

get a cat instead. their far better ^_^
