How to stop a humping dog?

How can I stop my chichihua from humping my King Charles Spaniel that has been fixed. He is driving us crazy!!

Answer #1

I no but we tried spraying water and he just drank it so we changed to vinegar and he still drank it but I think that he/she is just showing dominance that is what my dog does!

Great information. I saw the Dog Whisper in the library today. I will have to rent it next time I am there.

Some dogs will stop when they are nutered. If you don’t intend to bred him, get him fixed.

My dog is doing the same thing but he humps pillows. He will not stop either and he’s been fixed. I hope you get an answer so I get one too. So gross!

The Dog Whisperer uses his fingertips…the shape of his hand is the same as if you picked up a baseball…now remove the ball, and that’s the shape…at the same time he kinda pokes the dog in the neck (it simulates the kind of bite a mother dog does to discipline a pup)…he makes a harsh sound…like “CHIT!”…”HIKE!”…you can use your own sound…but it has to be sharp, with hard letters…it works! And after 2 or 3 times, all you have to do is make the sound.

Humping is dominant doggie body language…by doing the above, you make yourself alpha…even if the humping is happening to another dog…then you’re alpha and BOTH of them are beta’s.
