How old does my male need to be for stud

I think all the people asking ridiculous questions that are really none of your business need to get a life! the question was a simple one. if you can answer it do so, if not dont say anything at all becasue its really none of your business!

I think its when they are about 2. we had my male westie done at 9 months old as he was to hypo and was 100mph all the time!! calms them down load!! I would really read up on breeding dogs as their temprement changes once they have mated!!!

I agree with jennjae and jka1ka. I want to breed my working cocker also because 1 I would like another puppy just like him because he is so handsome and good natured. Another factor, I want to make money: is that such a crime these days.

Do you have a legitamate reason for breeding your dog? Is he an exceptional examply of his breed? Will his genes better his breed? Do you understand genetics? If not, then neuter him…both of you will be happier.

There is animal overpopulation in this country. You should not allow your dog to breed. Instead, neuter him so that he lives longer and is healthier and happier.

Why exactly are you breeding him? Has he had gene testing? Testing for hip dysplasia?

Neutering him instead would eliminate his chance for testicular cancer, limit his chances of wandering, and possibly even limit aggression in the future. Instead of adding to the pet overpopulation problem, do your part to stop it. (between 2-3 million animals are put to death in shelters all over this country because there isn’t enough room for them. Why breed more?)

I dont Want to neuter him :\ he isnt agreeive at all, he is so laid back, I used to take him obseince lessons, he’d let anyone do anything to him, hes that layed back he does as he told and he doesn tGrowl at all.. and why do I want to breed him? becus he was brought to be a family stud and to bread..

If you look at the local shealters when was the last time you seen a small shih Tzu I tried that option you can’t find them only big dogs that I would not like so responsible breeders are good. Puppy Mills on the other hand are bad for all of us who want to breed our small dogs should not have to listen to you dumb self rightous people!!!

Im with jennjae. its not your business if they want to breed a dog or not, and if you really want to look at some population problems, you better start checking out the human population. We are literally taking over the earth. More are born every day, and millions die everyday. Eventually the Earth going to get so covered in cemeteries, we’re not going to have room for the living. I imagine you want to have kids in your life, right? Or maybe you all already do? So JUST because there millions of starving kids around the world, what are the chances that, that’s going to stop you?

1 year is normally too young. 1 1/2 years to 2 years old is best for stud. It also may depend on the dog.
