how old do you have to be to pick who you live with

I think you should take it slow and see him at weekends they if that goes well move in!

Yeah I think after you’re 13 you can decide who you want to live with. But your mom can take it to court and she can say your dad is unable to take care of you.

Honestly, I would not go and live with your Dad. I’m a recovering drug addict and I remember what it was like to be addicted to drugs and alcohol all to well. He won’t care about you, you will have to deal with his issues (stealing, hangovers, bad moods, mood swings, puking, etc), he will not be abel to take care of your properly, and you should not have to put up wtih that type of behaviour.

You can make it 2 more years - it seems like a long time, but it’s not. Then you can move out on your own.

You can pick who you want to live with, as long as both parents are functioning. He has no chance of getting custody if he’s an alcoholic. And you do not want to live with an alcoholic. Believe me, maybe he’s a functioning alcoholic, and when you see him he is ok. But unless you live with him, you havent seen the bad side. And believe me, alcohol can bring out the worst in everyone…

I live with my mom too and she is married and I hate him so much and so I’ve hurd you have to be 14 to pick who you want to live with but I cant live with my dad because he is living with his friends and has no room for me and yahh I hate it
