How old do I have to be in order to choose where to live?

in most cases you have to be 16 to pick the parent you want to live with( depending on state laws that is) but also I knew of a friend in your situation who wasn’t 16 at the time(thats the age law for my state) and she told her dad about the issue and then she basically went to a judge and gave off the reasons why she thought she would be happier and better off living with her dad then her mom. Judges usually will listen to the child, if you present your case well, so talk to your dad. He can help. also, good luck. thank you. to all of you. I just feel trapped in this house, this town. I have no true friends. my mom calls me names and used to hit me, not really anymore.. all my brothers and sisters that arent old enough to move out agree that she is crazy and that I should get out of here, as I am the youngest and least favorite of the family. she doesnt respect that I dont like meat, and makes me eat it. I also get treated like a slave here, not a loved child. I have told her that im pretty sure I have asthma but she wont take me to the hospital to get checked.. she says its too expensive.

umm… I think you can choose who you want 2 live with if your parents devoirced you can have 1 parent for 1 week and 1 parent for 1 week

not if in different states and usually its they stay with one then visit the other on like wed and every other weekends but that wuldnt work out wit school

well what you could do is to talk to your dad bout how you feel and what you want to do but you need probably good reasons why you want to move cause your mom will probably fight for you
